Why moss matters
A bit of green on the roof looks harmless. Left alone it grows into thick pads that keep the tiles wet all year, slide off into the gutters and block them, and lift tiles as they thicken. That's when the leaks start. North-facing and shaded roofs get it worst.
How we do it
No high-pressure washing on the roof. It strips the surface off the tiles and forces water underneath them. We remove the moss by hand and scraper, bag it, clear the gutters and downpipes so they run, and take the lot away.
The roof check
While we're up we photograph anything that needs attention: a slipped tile, cracked pointing, a bit of lifted lead. You get the photos and a straight opinion. No pressure to fix it with us.
