Privacy
We use the details you send us to get back to you about your roof and, if you go ahead, to do the job and keep the records a business has to keep. We don't sell them. If you want anything deleted, email info@westlondonroofingltd.co.uk and we'll delete whatever the law doesn't make us keep.
Who we are
West London Roofing Maintenance Ltd is responsible for the details you give us, on this site or by phone, WhatsApp or email. We're registered in England and Wales, company no. 10442440.
Registered office: C/O Delta House Limited, Phoenix Business Centre, Rosslyn Crescent, Harrow, Middlesex HA1 2SP.
You can reach us at info@westlondonroofingltd.co.uk or on 07799 701056.
What we collect and why
When you send the quote form, we get your name, phone number, postcode, what's wrong with the roof, any photo you add and which page you sent it from. We use them to ring you back, look at the roof and quote for it. We do this because you've asked us for a quote, so we're taking steps towards a contract with you. If you're asking for someone else, such as a tenant, a landlord or a business, we do it because we have a legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
If you go ahead, we use your details to do the job, invoice you and help with any questions about the work afterwards. We do this to carry out our contract with you, and because tax law says we must keep business records.
If you ring, WhatsApp or email us instead, we use what you send in the same way. WhatsApp is run by Meta and has its own privacy policy.
The form won't send without your name, number, postcode and a line about the problem, because we need them to ring you back and quote. The photo is up to you. You don't have to use the form at all. You can ring or WhatsApp us instead.
A photo taken on a phone can carry details the phone saves with it, such as when and where it was taken. We only use the photos you send us for your job.
We take photos of our work as we go and send them to you. We may show some of them on this site and on our social media. We don't add your name or address to them. If you'd rather we didn't show yours, tell us and we'll take them down.
We don't make decisions about you by computer alone.
Who else sees them
A few services help us run the site and the form.
FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) delivers the form to our email. It says it keeps form details for 30 days. It doesn't say which country it handles them in, so we can't promise they get the same protection as under UK law. If you'd rather not use the form, ring us instead.
Namecheap, in the US, forwards our email to our Gmail inbox, which is run by Google.
MAVEX, the agency that built and runs this site, gets a copy of each form. They use it to check the form is working and to count how many enquiries the site brings in, and they keep the emails only as long as they need them for that. We do this because we have a legitimate interest in a website that works and in knowing how well it's doing.
Netlify, in the US, hosts the site. Like any web host, it sees your IP address, your browser and the pages you open, so it can show you the site and keep it safe. We do this because we have a legitimate interest in a site that works and is secure.
Google Analytics is only used if you accept it. See Cookies below.
Google and Netlify are signed up to the UK-US data bridge, which the UK government approved for sending personal details to the US.
If we do the work, we may share what's needed with people who help us do the job or run the business, such as scaffold and skip firms, the council for a scaffold or skip licence, and our accountant. We don't pass your details to anyone else unless the law says we must.
How long we keep them
If you don't go ahead, we keep your enquiry only as long as we might need it to follow up, then delete it.
If we do the work, we keep your details with the job and invoice records for as long as tax law says, which is at least 6 years after the end of our financial year. It also means we can help if there's ever a problem with the work.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the details we hold about you. You can ask us to correct them, delete them, or stop using them for a while. You can object to us using them where we rely on our legitimate interest. You can also ask for the details you gave us in a format you can take somewhere else.
Some of these rights only apply in certain cases, and we'll tell you if one doesn't. It's usually free. Email info@westlondonroofingltd.co.uk and we'll reply within a month, or tell you within that month if we need longer. We may ask you to confirm who you are first.
Where we only use something because you agreed to it, like analytics, you can change your mind at any time. That doesn't affect anything before you changed it.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your details, tell us by email, by phone or by post to our registered office. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it, keep you updated and tell you the outcome.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
This site doesn't use any cookies or similar tracking at the moment, and it doesn't store anything in your browser.
If you choose Accept on the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to count visits, see which pages people look at and how they found the site, and count taps on the call, WhatsApp, email and quote buttons, postcode checks (whether we cover the area, not your full postcode), gallery filters, and whether the quote form sent or failed. It doesn't tell us who you are and we don't use it for advertising. Google uses your IP address to work out roughly where you are, such as the town, then throws the IP address away. We only do this with your consent.
If you choose Reject, or don't choose, no analytics cookies are set and Google Analytics is not loaded.
| Name | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| wlr-consent | This site | Remembers your answer on the cookie banner, so we don't ask on every page. Needed for the banner to work, and used for nothing else | Until you clear it. We ask again after 12 months |
| _ga | Google Analytics | Tells one visitor's browser from another so visits are counted once. Only if you choose Accept | Up to 2 years after your last visit |
| _ga_8K803PRWY7 | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current visit. Only if you choose Accept | Up to 2 years after your last visit |
| wlr-internal | This site | Only set if someone opens our staff link. Marks our own visits so they're left out of the numbers | Until you clear it |
Google processes the analytics information for us. It deletes the details of each visit within 14 months and keeps only totals, like how many visits a page had.
You can change your mind at any time. If you switch analytics off, we remove the Google Analytics cookies from this site.
